How Teletherapy Works
Live, consistent, online speech therapy with licensed and certified speech-language pathologists
While at school, students log into live, one-on-one teletherapy sessions with licensed speech-language pathologists. Teletherapy is not a game or a pre-recorded video. Our therapists make real-life connections with your students and provide the same speech therapy as they would in person.
Our teletherapy services are just as intensive and results-oriented as traditional in-person services. But because our services are delivered over the internet, geography is not an obstacle. We can provide high quality speech therapy no matter where you are.
Initial Meeting
An Integrated Speech Solutions representative will meet with you to discuss your specific needs and the caseload we will be expected to serve, review our program and suitable options, and go over all other expectations and responsibilities. Then we will form a customized program for your schools and present you with a clear service agreement to make sure everyone is on the same page.
Onboarding and Scheduling
Our team will meet your Special Education team either in person or virtually, set up a service schedule, and begin transferring management of the caseload. We can perform screenings if needed, and then collaborate with your team and parents to create goals.
Once we receive access to student records and our caseload list, we can begin caseload management immediately.
Equipment Setup
If you prefer that we provide the computers and audio equipment, we will set it up on site and confirm that everything is operating smoothly. Your IT staff may need to be available to allow our computers on your network.
If you will be using your own computers, or if students will use their own assigned devices, we just need to make sure that they’re compatible with our system and meet our quality standards. We want your students’ experience to be top notch from start to finish.
Consistent and Individualized Therapy
An on-site facilitator—be they one of your staff or one of ours—takes students from the classroom to the speech room according to schedule and supervises during therapy. With our large team of therapists, someone is almost always available to fill in in the case of a therapist’s absence, so your students will rarely miss a day.
We also have many specialists in areas who can be brought in to consult or provide therapy for specific needs, such as behavioral disorders, feeding and swallowing disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our contracts vary significantly depending on your school district’s needs. Short term staffing to cover a maternity leave would be completely different from full staffing for a school year, for example. Contact us to get a custom quote for your caseload.
Yes, we keep students with the same therapists as much as possible because that consistency helps students stay engaged and on track. In the event a therapist is out, their schedule will be covered by one of our other therapists.
An internet connection at your school is required. You will also need a computer with a webcam and a microphone, all of which we can provide. If you will be providing your own computer, we recommend an affordable, external microphone because the ones built into laptops and webcams are typically less than ideal for speech therapy.
Absolutely! Our contracts are very flexible and can cover a wide range of needs. Plus all of our therapists have worked in schools and are completely comfortable collaborating with your regular staff.
We can communicate via email or phone to introduce ourselves, answer questions, and report progress. We also frequently invite parents to watch our sessions live, after which we can provide guidance on helping their children practice at home.
No, we take care of 100% of the documentation for the entire caseload assigned to us. We will not create any additional paperwork for your full-time staff.
An on-site facilitator is responsible for supervising students during therapy, as well as escorting them between their regular classrooms and the designated speech room. This facilitator can be provided by you or by us.
